A Celebration of Life - and Sincere Thank You

on Thu, 07/30/2015 - 01:02

The family will be having a Celebration of Life for Ray Nunamaker on Sunday, August 16, beginning at 1:00 pm, fittingly in the Raymond J. Nunamaker Gymnasium at Nazareth High School. Entrance will be via the side door by the wrestling room to the gym and the family will be in the lobby. The cafeteria will be available for friends to talk and have light refreshments.

We appreciate everyone at the school who have helped make this possible in a very short period of time, as well as everyone at Reichel Funeral home for their help and assistance. The Celebration of Life will be in place of a viewing and the funeral will be for family only.

We also want to thank everyone for their messages - by phone, email, text, social, etc. - of support. Hearing from so many people who have been positively impacted by dad is very uplifting during a difficult time. Our apologies for not being able to personally respond to every message, our phones blew up worse than Tom Brady's today.

To the family of Ray Nunamaker, I think Mr. Nunamaker was a wonderful teacher, coach, person who was always kind to me and my family. May he find rest in heaven and realize how much of an impact he made on Nazareth High's Wrestling Program. Nazareth will always be grateful because Mr. Nunamaker came to our school.

What a great person, coach and inspiration. I was fortunate enough to have Ray as a teacher for the class of 1981. As a young youth wrestler I can remember him teaching me the rights and wrongs of wrestling and always encouraged all to do better.  May he rest in peace and his memory instill the values of life in all of us.
