The Nazareth Wrestling Team was the undefeated Colonial League Champion for the second year in a row with a dual meet record of 12-5. Coach Ray Nunamaker won his 200th victory this year in 19 years of coaching.

Jim Albanese (119 lbs) was a District and Regional champion, and State Runnerup. He set a school record for most wins in a season (33), most career wins (74), most career matches (113), and most initial takedowns. Jim took first place in the Christmas City Tournament and placed thierd in the Colonial League Tournament.

Greg Noll was a District Runnerup, third place winner in Regionals and a Quaterfinalist in States. He also placed second in the Easton Tournament, third in the Christmas City Tournament, and fiest in the Colonial League Tournament. Greg (112 lbs) broke the school record for most takedowns in a season (85) and most team points in a dual meet season (88).

Bob Fehr was Runnerup in Districts, third place winner in Easton Tournament, and first place winner in Colonial League Tournament at HWT. He broke the school record for most escapes in a season (31).

In the Christmas City Tournament Mike Dlugos (167 lbs) placed third. In the Colonial League Tournament, Sean Murphy (91 lbs) placed second and Tom Eschenbach (126 lbs), Gary Grube (145 lbs), and Mike Dlugos placed 3rd. Gary Grube also placed 3rd in Districts.

With a winning season record of 12-5 and a Colonial League record of 8-0, the wrestling team had a very good season.

Nazareth defeats Wilson 35-23 for Ray's 200th career coaching victory.

Greg Noll is 2nd and Bob Fehr 3rd in the Easton Tournament.

Jim Albanese is 1st, Greg Noll 3rd, Mike Dlugos 3rd, Jim Brooks 4th, Bob Fehr 4th, Rich Dech 5th and John Burnett 6th in the Christmas City Tournament.

Nazareth wins the Colonial League Championship (2nd consecutive)

Greg Noll and Bob Fehr are 1st in the Colonial League tournament, Sean Murphy is 2nd, Jim Albanese, Tom Eschenbach, Gary Grube, and Mike Dlugos are 3rd, and Kevin Brown, Jan Gensits, and Jim Karch are 4th.

Nazareth is 4th in the District Tournament.

Jim Albanese wins a District XI title at 119 with a 6-4 victory over Bryan Buddock of Saucon Valley.

Greg Noll is again a District runner-up, this year at 112 losing to Liberty's Mickey Torres 9-0.

Bob Fehr is a District runner-up.

Gary Grube finishes 3rd in the District Tournament.

Nazareth is 7th in the NE Regional Tournament.

Jim Albanese is 1st and Greg Noll 3rd in Regionals.

PIAA Championships

Greg Noll won his opening round 9-9, 14-3 overtime over Mt. Lebanon's Bill Perri. He then lost to Mark Sodano of CB East, who would go on to win the 112 pound title.  

Jim Albanese becomes Coach Nunamaker's 3rd PIAA State Runner-up at 119. He wins his opening bout over Dan Seislove of Springford 9-4. In the quarterfinals he wins 5-3 over Roger Lingle of Central Dauphin. In the semifinals he defeats Mark Noll of Dallastown.

In the finals Albanese loses to Kyle Nellis of Shaler 15-5. Nellis effectively used a tilt and a new style of wrestling emerged. Nellis defeated Rob Koll 9-2 in the opening round. Koll went on to become a 4x All American and NCAA Champion before taking over as head coach at Cornell.
